The first Testing Session of newly featured E Extreme motor-sports racing commenced with the Finnish Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas driving the Extreme E Odyssey 21 E-SUV in France. The session took place on a dirt track at Chateau de Lastours, France.

The E Extreme series is for sports involving very fast electric cars. The all-electric off-road series is set to commence from 2021 and will feature racing in climate affected remote areas of the world. Stakeholders have scheduled 5 races for 2021 which include one in Greenland and an other in Amazon, Brazil.

The British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton who has recently levelled the 91 Grand Prix wins world record of Michael Schumacher also announced that he would introduce his X44 team into the new climate-aware Extreme E series for 2021 season.
