27 days after Chris Gayle reached his double century, it was Martin Guptill who also reached this landmark by scoring 237 runs against West Indies. What made this knock even more special was that this innings came at the ICC World Cup quarter finals stage.

Guptill reached this milestone in 163 balls by scoring 24 fours and 11 sixes. And this innings took New Zealand into the semi-finals of the World Cup 2015.

This score is still the highest by any Kiwi player and even uptill now, Guptill remains the only double centurion for New Zealand in ODI cricket records.

The latest inclusion in this elite list is none other than Pakistan’s new find, Fakhar Zaman. His potential was recognized when he scored a century against India in the Champions Trophy Final 2017.

And, it was only a matter of time before the Navy soldier turned cricketer registered his first ever double century against Zimbabwe.

It took only 156 balls for Zaman to reach this milestone and this brutal innings consisted of 24 fours and 5 sixes.

Records Broken after this innings:

  • 210* – Highest score by a Pakistani batsman. Previously, it was Saeed Anwar’s 194 against India.
  • First ever double century by a Pakistani batsman.
  • Fakhar Zaman became the sixth batsman to score a double century in the history of ODI cricket.
