The online game PUBG – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has been temporarily banned in Pakistan. This was announced through a notification by PTA Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for being a game which is “addictive” and harmful to players.

The regulatory body elaborated that the action has been taken as PTA had received numerous complaints against PUBG including there it has been reported in the media that there have been suicide cases of youngsters linked to PUBG

Further, PTA under directive of the Lahore High court will also be hearing the complainants on 9th of July 2020.

Besides, the Authority has also encouraged the public to to send their opinion on the email address: consultation-pubg@pta.gov.pk by 10th July, 2020.
