KARACHI: Young Naseem Shah claimed five wickets to dismiss Sri Lanka on 212 chasing 478 thus leading Pakistan to a resounding victory of 263 runs against Sri Lanka on the fifth day of the second test in Karachi.

Sri Lanka began their fifth day’s play on 212/7 and lost all three wickets without making a single run with just 16 balls being bowled.

16-year-old Naseem Shah became the youngest ever bowler to take five wickets in a single test inning. He finished with 5/32 after dismissing Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Dilruwan Perera, Lasith Embduldeniya and Vishwa Fernando in the second innings.

 Abid Ali was awarded man of the match and match of the series as well for his superb batting performance following his test debut against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. He scored a total of 321 runs with two centuries in the series.

Pakistan also clinched the two-match series against Sri Lanka 1-0 on Monday as the first test between the two in Rawalpindi ended in a draw due to rain and overcast weather.

The two-match series was a part of the ICC World test championship and Pakistan climbed up to the number 3 spot after today’s victory.
