PESHAWAR: The Azadi Cup 2018 officially started with the Peshawar Blues convincingly winning the opening match, played at Arbab Niaz Stadium, Peshawar.

Peshawar Blues won by 26 runs. Batting first Peshawar made 122 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. In return, Nowshera Blues were bowled out for just 96 runs.

The cup is being organised as a gift to the Nation on the auspicious occasion of Independence by Peshawar Zalmi and Zalmi Foundation. The final will be held on 14 August 2018 – the Independence day.
