Pakistan – Triangular International Kabaddi: Iranian & Indian Teams Arrive

LAHORE: The International Kabaddi Taakra between Iran, India and Pakistan.will kick off on 8th January.
To participate the Iranian and Indian teams have arrived. The 14-member Indian Kabaddi team is led by Partap Singh while Guldeep Singh and Baljit Singh are manager and coach of the visiting team respectively. The other members include:
  • Harjeet Singh,
  • Deepak Sharma,
  • Angrej Singh,
  • Sandeep Singh,
  • Balinder,
  • Kuldeep Singh,
  • Mikki, Mohit,
  • Autar Singh,
  • Sachin,
  • Naresh,
  • Kulveer, and
  • Shera Singh.
The team was welcomed at National Hockey Stadium, Lahore by Punjab Sports Minister – Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, Director General Sports Punjab – Nadeem Sarwar. On this occasion the Iranian Kabaddi officials were also present.
The opening clash will be between Pakistan Green and India in the city of Jhang. While the grand final clash of the mega event will be staged at Lahore on 13th January, 2019. This was announced by Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti at crowded media talk.

 

Earlier, Secretary General, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation. Rana Sarwar, SBP Chief Consultant Shahid Faqir Virk, SBP PRO Abdul Rauf and a large number of Kabbadi lovers received the Indian Kabaddi team at Wahga Border.

Pakistan Kabaddi 2019: National & International Events Announced

The Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti also said that the event will take place in Punjab’s four major cities – Lahore, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Jhang. Pakistan is a peaceful country and we want convey the peace message through the traditional game of kabaddi,” he added.

Punjab Sports Minister, Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti further said Punjab govt is also planning to host kabaddi league in various cities of the province in future.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said the International Kabaddi Taakra is being organized after 11 years by Punjab government with the collaboration of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF). “Kabaddi is one of the oldest traditional games and being one of the most popular among the masses. Kabaddi is undoubtedly the identity of Pakistan – India Subcontinent especially Punjab. The traditional games”

Answering a question, DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said the way three top Kabaddi powers – Pakistan, India and Iran are making efforts and holding Kabaddi events to reflect a bright future of Kabaddi in the world.
