Highlights:

  • The hustle around Jose Mourinho’s managerial skills finally came to an end, as Manchester United beat Leicester City to start their Premier League season on a winning note.

  • In the first half, luck favored the ‘Red Devils’ as Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey’s handball, awarded Manchester United with a penalty.
  • Pogba, who was named the captain of this squad, appeared to be in tantalizing form as he took the penalty, scored and put his team in the lead.

  • Leicester City’s James Maddison and some other strikers came close to scoring, however United’s goal keeper, David De Gea remained excellent in his defense.
  • The score remained 1-0, as the referee blew the whistle and the first half ended with United in the lead.
  • Early substitutions were made in Leicester City, one in the middle and one in the defending lines, a clear attempt to score and draw level.

  • However, David de Gea who had been bashed for his performances at the recent World Cup, looked in good touch as he was not letting the ball pass through him.
  • Now, with 10 minutes remaining in the match, Alexis Sanchez gave an excellent cross to Luke Shaw who fired it past the goal keeper to double United’s lead.

  • This was also the final score of the match, as the 2015-16, Premier League winners, Leicester City lost their opening match of the current season.
