Lahore : Waste Busters and Terra Energy carved out impressive victories against their respective opponents on the second day of the Seasons Canola Polo Cup 2017 here at Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Wednesday.

In the first match of the day, Waste Buster played superbly against Diamond Paints and outclassed them by 9-3. Diamond Paints were off to flying start as they hammered a hat-trick while Waste Busters also tried their best to match Diamond Paints pace and also scored a brace as the second chukker ended in favour of Diamond Paints, who had 3-2 lead. The third and fourth chukker were fully dominated by Waste Busters who slammed seven more goals to take an unassailable 9-2 lead.

Ahmed Zubair Butt played heroic role in Waste Buster’s victory as he fired fabulous four goals while Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana hammered a hat-trick and Abdul Rehman Monnoo scored a brace. For Diamond Paints, Mir Huzaifa struck twice while Omar Asjad Malhi hit one.

The second match of the day was also proved to be a one-sided encounter as Terra Energy thrashed Pebble Breakers by 7-2½. Pebble Breakers started the match having half goal handicap advantage but they couldn’t score a goal in the first chukker, which was fully dominated by Terra Energy as they scored two goals to make it 2-½. Terra Energy started the second chukker in a great style and added two more in their total tally to make it 4½ but Faisal Khan converted one to reduce the deficit to 4-1½.

The third chukker was also dominated by Terra Energy who hammered two field goals to further enhance their lead to 6-1½. In the fourth and last chukker, Pebble Breakers once again tried to fight back but they could add only one goal to reduce the lead to 6-2 ½ but in the dying moments of the match, Terra Energy banged in one more to finish the match at 7-2½.

Today (Thursday), two more matches will be contested as in the first encounter at 2:00 pm, Sherwood will take on Guard Group while Newage will vie against Remington Polo at 3:00 pm.
