Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 to win the Super Bowl, their first in 50 years at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida to wrap up the 2019 NFL season on a victorious note.
Chiefs recovered from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to Patrick Mahomes’s superb match-winning performance to register a 9-point victory instead.
The 24-year-old Mahomes became the youngest ever Super Bowl MVP after today’s heroic performance of 11 touchdowns without a single interception stepping up from last season’s League MVP title.
“We never lost faith,” Mahomes said. “That’s the biggest thing. Everybody on this team, no one had their head down. We believed in each other.”
The 49ers had dominated the game in the beginning as their star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo kept piling up points and Mahomes was bogged down by their defense.
The chiefs were down and behind 20-10 as the fourth quarter rolled in and this was when things got interesting and Mahomes began showing his magical skills.

This was 49ers’ first win in fifty years despite three participations in the Super Bowl final. Last time they won the championship was against Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV.
The biggest sports event of the year in the USA also featured a number of commercials cashing in on the undivided attention of millions of viewers across the continental United States and across the globe.
The half-time show featured performances by the likes of Demi Lovato, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez to keep the viewers engaged.
