The tournament with a prize money of € 5.9 million commenced from 12th and will culminate on 21st September in Rome. The Italian Open is part of ATP Association of Tennis Professionals Tour Masters 1000.

World No. 8 D. Schwartzman won from World No. 12 D. Shapovalov 2-1 (6-4, 5-7, 7-6).

Novak Djokovic will contest the final against D. Schwartzman for the men’s singles title.

Earlier, Novak Djokovic beat D. Koepfer 2-1 (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) during the quarter finals.

During 2020 season Novak Djokovic was disqualified from playing the final stages of the US Open 2020 as his ball hit line judge during the match.
