The 39 year old Serena Williams became the third Tennis star who will not play at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. The worlds largest and most prestigious event is to take place from 23rd July till 8th August, 2021.
Serena after announcing her decision on Sunday at the pre-Wimbledon press conference, joined Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem who have already withdrawn from the Olympics.
Williams said on Sunday, “There’s a lot of reasons that I made my Olympic decision, I don’t really want to — I don’t feel like going into them today. Maybe another day. Sorry.”
