Single’s: Serena Williams vs Camila Giorgi

Result: Serena Williams defeated Camila Giorgi by 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Result: Jelena Ostapenko defeated Dominika Cibulkova by 7-5, 6-4.

  • The 21-year old Latvia star player, Jelena Ostapenko took a great start as she opened the scoring of the first set as Dominika Cibulkova failed to score the first point on her serve.

  • However, a tough fight was witnessed between the two players as the score reached 5-5 after some time.
  • But in the end, the Croatian star player, Dominika Cibulkova failed to win the set as Jelena Ostapenko scored the last two points first in quick succession.

  • The next set started and this time Dominika Cibulkova took the lead as she was looking confident of winning this set.
  • The score reached 4-5 with Jelena Ostapenko leading upfront. However, bad luck struck Dominika Cibulkova as Jelena Ostapenko scored the last point first and won the second set too.

Result: Julia Gorges defeated Kiki Bertens in Wimbledon 2018 Quarter final by 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.

  • Kiki Bertens took a perfect start as she was leading Julia Gorges in the first set and was also scoring points at a very fast pace.
  • However, Julia Gorges came in action and the score became levelled at 3-3 after a tough fight.

  • But in the end, the Russian player, Kiki Bertens claimed her victory in the opening set of the match as she scored the last three points in quick succession.
  • However, in the second set, both the players gave their best as the score reached 5-5 after a sensational fight.

  • But this time, Julia Gorges sealed her win in the end as she scored the last two points in quick succession.
  • The match came to the decisive set and Julia Gorges took a perfect start with a powerful backhand shot.

  • An exquisite performance was witnessed by Julia Gorges as she gave a humiliating defeat to Kiki Bertens in the decisive set by 6-1.
