The main final United Bank Limited-sponsored lived up to its reputation as an enthralling encounter. After a hard-fought battle, Team Remounts emerged victorious with a final score of 9-5. The Argentinian sensation, Abelenda, representing Team Remounts, displayed exceptional prowess by scoring impressive six goals. His teammates, including Mohammad Naeem, Shahid Imran, and Hamza Iqbal, contributed with one goal each.

On the opposing side, Juan Cruz Greguol led the charge for FG/Din Polo with a remarkable hat-trick, while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Mian Abbas Mukhtar each scored one goal.

Subsidiary Final Overview

In the subsidiary final, Team Diamond Paints registered a 9-6½ victory over DS/Sheikhoo Steel. Raja Temur Nadeem showcased outstanding performance by firing four incredible goals for Diamond Paints. Mir Huzaifa Ahmed and Saqib Khan Khakwani added to the tally with three and two goals, respectively.

For DS Polo/Sheikhoo Steel, which held a half-goal handicap advantage, Nicholas Roberts stood out with five goals, while Lt Col Omer Minhas scored one goal. 

Mrs. Tamiz Alam, wife of the late Gen Shah Rafi Alam, along with Haider Malik of United Bank Limited, Azam Hayat Noon, the President of the Lahore Polo Club, distributed the prizes.

Day 4 Matches Overview

The contest between Remounts and Pebble Breaker proved to be a captivating showdown. As the fourth round commenced, both teams were level at 4-4 goals. In the dying moments, Remounts delivered a spectacular goal, clinching the match with a final score of 5-4.

It was Abelenda who shone the brightest, single-handedly contributing all five goals for the victorious Remounts. Bilal Noon and Ahmad Ali Tiwana displayed commendable performances for Pebble Breaker, each adding two goals to the tally.

Kicking off the day’s events, Diamond Paints showcased their prowess by defeating the Rijas Polo team with a score of 7-2½. Saqib Khan Khakwani was the standout performer, scoring four fabulous goals, while Raja Temur Nadeem and Mir Huzaifa Ahmed secured two and one goal, respectively, for Diamond Paints. In response, Isaac Hagedoorm managed to put away two goals for Rijas Polo, benefiting from a half-goal handicap advantage.

The FG/Din Polo squad showcased exceptional teamwork and individual brilliance, with Juan Cruz Greguol, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, and Mian Abbas Mukhtar each contributing a remarkable three goals. Not to be outdone,  Amirreza Behboudi shone for Master Paints with three goals of his own, while Agha Musa Ali Khan added two goals to their tally.

In the tournament’s earlier match, DS Polo/Sheikhoo earned their place in the Subsidiary Finals by overpowering the Newage Cables/Master Paints team with a resounding score of 12-7. The Argentine sensation, Nicholas Roberts, led the charge for DS/Sheikhoo with a phenomenal eight-goal performance. Meanwhile, Col Omar Minhas and Daniyal Sheikh secured two goals each to bolster their side’s victory.
