Gladiators WESPA Scrabble Championship 2021, has reached the semi final stage. This took place when all the four quarter finals were completed today, after having been managed online from Pakistan, on a round the clock basis with players from 7 different time zones across the world.

The semi finals lineup is – Alastair Richards Vs Peter Cougi and David Eldar Vs Will Anderson.

Quarter Finals

In the first quarter final Alastain Richards of New Zealand bulldozed Paul Gallen of Northern Ireland by a 3-0 scoreline to qualify for the semis. The second quarter final was even more one sided with the world No. 2 David Eldar of Australia annihilating Eta Karo of Nigeria 3-0. The third quarter final between Will Anderson of USA and Wellington Jighere was the most exciting match. Anderson started off well by winning the first two games and it appeared that there will be yet another 3-0 scoreline but the former world champion Jighere made a strong comeback winning the next two and taking the match to the 5th game. Anderson won a very tense and nail biting 5th game by 487-458 to move to the semi finals. The fourth and last quarter finals was played between Peter Cougi of Australia and Sherwin Rodrigues of India with the former winning it with a 3-1 score.
