Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya set a New World Record for Half Marathon in Women’s category with 1 hour 5 minutes and 34 seconds time in Prague. She had also been World champion for half marathon during 2016.

Jepchirchir covered the initial 10 kilometres of the 16-and-a-half-lap Letna Park course in just 30:32.

The 26 years old Jepchirchir covered the total distance 37 seconds earlier than the previous world record.

The former record was set by Netsanet Gudeta of Ethiopia with 1 hour 6 minutes and 11 seconds time for the half marathon in 2018.

The Prague Half Marathon is held every year in Prague, Czech Republic since 1999.
