Recently departed NBA legend Kobe Bryant was honored with an emotional tribute at the Oscars ceremony as showbiz celebrities gathered for the biggest awards event of Hollywood.

Actor and Director Spike Lee donned a suit inspired by Bryant to the red carpet featuring his team colors and his jersey number 24.

Later in the ceremony, Bryant was included in the Oscar’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment commemorating the showbiz celebrities who had passed away during the last year.

With Billie Eilish vocalizing Beatles’ ‘Yesterday’, A slideshow montage of departed Hollywood personalities began with a picture of Kobe Bryant along with his own quote stating: “Life is too short to get bogged down and be discouraged. You have to keep moving. You have to keep going.”

Popular by his achievements on the basketball court, Bryant was well-accompanied with Hollywood as well. He made routine appearances at Showbiz events and even won an Oscar in 2018 in the category of Best Animated Short Film for “Dear Basketball.”

“As basketball players, we’re really supposed to shut up and dribble,” Bryant said in the pair’s acceptance speech. “But I’m glad we’re doing a little bit more than that.”

Bryant lost his life in a helicopter crash on 26 January at the age of 41. The crash also claimed the life of his daughter Gianna and seven others. Tributes have been pouring in for NBA legend from all over the world and a public memorial service will be held on 24 February at the Staples Center.
