The Tokyo Olympic games which were to be held from 24th July 2020, have been postponed for a period of one year till 2021.
The Japanese Prime Minister, Mr. Shinzo Abe while speaking to the media informed that on his recommendation, the IOC chief Mr. Thomas Bach agreed to postponing the games till 2021, due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Cornavirus attack.
Already the confusion had been existing about holding of the games. Although, since last couple of days there were strong indications that postponed will be strongly considered. On Sunday, in the last announcement IOC had given a four-week time period to decide the best possible option.
After the last announcement there had been negative reaction from athletes and Olympic associations of especially Canada and Australia, which gave a strong signal of not allowing their athletes to compete.
