The Indian Government has issued a formal letter for permitting UAE as the venue for IPL 2020.

The main reason for shift of the venue from India to UAE is the rising cases of the corona virus in India.

The Governing Body BCCI has confirmed the receipt of the letter through the statement of IPL Chairman.

BCCI has already the approvals from Emirates Cricket Board as well as Home and Sports Ministries of India to hold IPL in UAE.

The T20 event is scheduled to be held from 19th September to the 10th November. The cities short listed for the IPL matches are Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

According to the SOP’s every stakeholder including players have to pass two COVID-19 tests within 24 hours before departing for UAE. Further, most of them will be flying after 20th August.
