Pakistan Cricket Board announced names of three coaches for the NHPC-National High Performance Centre.

Former captain Mohammad Yousuf has been appointed as the batting coach cum consultant. Atiq-uz-Zaman and Muhammad Zahid have also been selected as fielding com wicket-keeping and fast bowling coaches, respectively. Mushtaq Ahmed is already working in NHPC as a consultant for spin bowling.

Muhammad Yousaf having been involved from 1998 to 2010 is one of the memorable batsman of Pakistan cricket. He is Pakistan’s fourth highest Test run-maker with 7,530 runs and in ODIs the second most runs scorer with 9,720 runs. .

Atiq-uz-Zaman having been in active cricket during 1996 – 2007, has only played a Test, three ODIs and 69 first-class matches. He is known for having dismissed 76 batsman in a single season of 2000-01, which as a wicket keeper broke a record.

Muhammad Zahid had a lot of potential as a bowler. However, due to a serious back injury his cricketing career became short. Zahid played 5 Tests, 11 ODIs and 43 first-class matches. Interestingly, although a short career but had a unique record on Test debut, became the only bowler of Pakistan to take 10 plus wickets.
