Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City was named the EPL- English Premier League’s Player of the Season 2019-20.
29-year-old Belgian during the season De Bruyne who plays at midfielder position, scored 13 goals in 35 league matches. These were scored from 20 assists. With this performance De Bruyne equalled the record of French superstar Thierry Henry, who while playing for Arsenal achieved the milestone in 2002-03.
In terms of Belgium players, De Bruyne during the last nine years is the third Belgian player to have won the EPL Player of the Season award. The previous ones were:
- Ex-Manchester City defender player – Vincent Kompany who won it in 2011-12.
- Ex-Chelsea winger Eden Hazard who was named the winner for 2014-15 season.
