Ellyse Perry – Cricket

Ellyse Perry became the first-ever cricketer in the world to score 1000 runs and claimed 100 wickets in T20I cricket as she set a wicket record of 7/22 against England in August 2019. She also captained the Sydney Sixers in Women’s Big Bash League and led them to a second-place finish.

For her several achievements including a match-winning 85* innings in Ashes, Perry received the coveted Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for women’s cricketer of the year and the ODI Cricketer of the Year award in 2019. She was also named as the Top woman cricketer of the decade by the ICC – International Cricket Council in December 2019.

Jin Young Ko – Golf

Jin Young Ko dominated the women’s golf game in 2019 and won a record number of championships and broker several barriers including Golf legend Tiger Woods’ 20-year-old record of 110-hole bogey-free by going 114 holes without a single miss.

The young Korean golfer won two major championships i.e. ANA Inspiration and Evian Championship along with three LPGA Tour events including her home championship in Korea.

Ko received Rolex Annika Major Award, Vare Trophy and the Rolex Player of the Year for her achievements in 2019 and ended the year with a three-point lead on women’s golf ranking table.

Megan Rapinoe – Football

Megan Rapinoe led the US women team to the second consecutive title victory in FIFA 2019 World Cup. She scored both goals in the quarter-final and then scored in the final to defeat The Netherlands 2-0.

The 34-year-old American became the oldest footballer to be named player of the match in a FIFA contest. She was also awarded Golden Boot and Golden Ball for her spectacular performance in the World Cup.
