An accident during the Ironman Japan Triathlon 2020 left three sports persons injured out of whom one is in critical condition. A 52 years old participant is unconscious due to head injury in the crash.
Ironman events for preparation of the Ironman World Championship 2021 consist of cycling, swimming and running legs over a total distance of 70.3 miles.
The police reported that the incidence took place during bike leg of the course while traversing through the Chita Peninsula, South of Nagoya, Japan.
