Katie Taylor

Top boxer Katie Taylor is on her way to shatter the glass ceiling by becoming the first-ever female boxer to headline a major competition in New York in April this year.

Taylor has been lined up to fight Amanda Serrano in her next match scheduled at Madison Square Garden commonly known as the ‘Home of Boxing’.

The 31-year-old has been selected to do the historic honors after her record-winning performance throughout the year 2019 and previous years as well. She currently holds the most titles in female boxing history.

Taylor made the headlines last year in June when she became the undisputed lightweight world. She then moved up to the 140 pounds category and also claimed the World Super Lightweight crown by defeating Christina Linardatou in November.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist ruled the very top of boxing leaderboards in 2019 and was awarded the 2019 Christy Martin Award for top female fighter of the year 2019 for her winning streak.
