London Squash Classic 2024: Commences 27th March; Contenders To Watch Out!

The 1st edition of the LSC-London Squash Classic, takes place from 27th March till 1st April, at Alexandra Palace situated in North London.

Being held for the last 20 years for the first time women’s draw is also included. Some of the main contenders for the London Squash Classic 2024 title include:

Men’s Draw
Paul Coll – World No.2 Paul Coll will play at the LSC after winning the Gold at Optasia Championships. The 31-year-old is looking for the ninth title after victories of eight PSA Tour titles till date.
Mostafa Asal  – 22-year-old Mostafa Asal the World No.4 who is No. 2 seed in the event, will be on the outlook for his second title of the season. During January he lifted the Florida Open title and since then, has been in three semi-finals from four events on the PSA World Tour.
Karim Abdel Gawad – The No 3 seed during the present season has been in full form. He has already won three titles at the Grasshopper Cup, the Malaysia Cup and the Pittsburgh Open.
Mohamed ElShorbagy  – The World No.7 is among the main winning contenders of of next week’s LSC. However, his luck during the recent encounters has not been very favourable. He has been defeated in fifth decider games in eight of his last ten events. And all of the loses have been in at least the quarter-finals stage of each event.
Marwan ElShorbagy – Marwan is another of the ElShorbagy brothers to keep a watch, as he aims to win the first title of the season. He has been a two-time runner-up this season. First in the New Zealand Open final and then in the Pittsburgh Open title decider, and on his day can take the game to any player in the world.
Women’s Draw
Nour El Sherbini – The 28-year-old World No. 1 is the top seed for the LSC 2024. She has had an outstanding season in which has won six titles and lost only two matches. He career has been magical and incredible with Nour having won a total of 40 PSA Tour titles.
Hania El Hammamy – The 23-year-old World No.2 title holder will be eyeing to win the seasons third title.
Nouran Gohar – The 26-year-old No.3 seed who has been away for four months due to an injury is looking to win for her first title of the season.
Nele Gilis – World No.4 the 28-year-old Nele Gilis is regarded as the danger women for the top seeds at the LSC 2024. She has had a worthwhile season with winning her first gold title at Singapore Open and then being a runner-up of the Optasia Championships.
Georgina Kennedy – Being a Londoner the 26-year-old Georgina Kennedy will be on her home ground looking out for her 12th career title on the PSA Tour. The No.5 seed, she has had a remarkable performance during the season by having reached five semi-finals and recently finishing runner-up at Silver-level Squash.
