Punjab Polo Cup 2019: Newage/Diamond Paints & Barry’s In Final

LAHORE: Newage/Diamond Paints and Barry’s qualified for the main final of the Chapter 2 Punjab Polo Cup 2019 at Lahore Polo Club ground.

While RR Event Planners/Momin Ghee and Master Paints Black booked berths in the subsidiary final of the historical 14-goal Punjab Cup.

Newage/Diamond Paints won both of their two-chukker matches to make their way to the main final. In their first match, they outclassed RR Event Planners/Momin Ghee by 4-1/2. Salvador and Hissam Ali Hyder banged in a brace each for the winning side while the losing side, which had a half goal handicap, couldn’t score a single goal.

In their second match of the day, Newage/Diamond Paints defeated Master Paints by a narrow margin of 4-3. Hissam Ali Hyder played outstanding polo and hammered a hat-trick for the winning side while Juan  Cruz Losada and Hamza Mawaz Khan struck two and one goal respectively for Master Paints.

RR Event Planners/Momin Ghee played two matches. Although they lost their first match against Newage/Diamond Paints, yet they won their second one against Master Paints by 3 1/2-2 to get berth in the subsidiary final. Nicolas Corti struck two goals and Bilal Haye one for the winning team, which had also a half goal handicap while for Master Paints, Juan Cruz Losada and Hamza Mawaz Khan scored one goal apiece.

In the crucial fourth match of the day, Barry’s outpaced Master Paints Black by 8-5 to qualify for the main final while the losing side, Master Paints Black, set a subsidiary final clash against RR Events Planners/Momin Ghee.

Bautista Bayuger and Raja Samiullah played vital role in Barry’s 8-5 thumping over Master Paints Black as both fired in fabulous four goals each while from the losing side, Matias Vial Parez and Ahmed Ali Tiwana banged in a brace each and Raja Temur Nadeem contributed one.

  • The main final will be contested between Newage/Diamond Paints and Master Paints Black today (Sunday) at 3:15 pm.
  • Barry’s will vie against RR Event Planners/Momin Ghee in the subsidiary final to be played at 1:30 pm.
