IBSF – ACBS World Team Championship 2018 a new US$ 60,000 annual event, which has been jointly announced by the IBSF and ACBS along with the Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation (QBSF), as scheduled commenced with matches being played in four of the eight groups.
The main upset at the inaugural edition of World Snooker Team Cup 2018 being held in Doha, Qatar was the Russian team – Ivan Kakovskii & Mikhail Terekhov defeating the reigning World Team champions Muhammad Asif & Babar Masih of Pakistan 3-1.
The event will be organized every year by the QBSF in collaboration with the IBSF and ACBS. During 2018, it is being held in Doha, Qatar from 27th February to 2nd March.
On the first day, matches were played in four groups and the position stood as follows:
