Tour de France 2018: Primoz Wins Stage 19; Geraint Closer To Victory

Primoz Roglic won Stage 19 while, Geraint Thomas outsprinted his nearest match Tom Dumoulin, to get six extra seconds, and broaden his general lead by coming 2nd in stage 19.

The Tour de France is a yearly stage bike race which is held on an annual basis in France. The event consists of 20 or 22 teams, who have to cover a total of 3,500 kilometers in 23 stages.

With only 2 stages left in the Tour de France, Geraint Thomas leads the pack and at present, remains the favorite to win this event.

Conventionally,  the yellow jersey (given to the tour de france’s winner) is not contested on the last stage. This implies that if Team Sky’s Thomas Geraint leads after Stage 20, then he will probably win the ongoing tour, and will be nominated as the third Briton to do so, after Sir Bradley Wiggins and 4 time champion Chris Froome.

On the other hand, defending champion Froome has been seen as out of form in this event, as he came 8th in Stage 19. And, his overall position is 4th after the completion of this stage.

The classification of positions after Stage 19 and the general classification of this whole event so far is:

The Stage 19 Classification is as follows:

1. Primoz Roglic – 5hrs 28mins 17secs
2. Geraint Thomas – +19secs
3. Romain Bardet – +19secs
4. Daniel Martin +19secs
5. Rafal Majka +19secs

General Classification After The Completion of Stage 19:
