Wimbledon 2018 Highlights: Day 4; Round of 64 – 1st Half Singles

Allsportspk presents to you the highlights of the first half of round of 64. The players who won today have advanced to the round of 32 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Men’s Singles

Match: Horacio Zeballos Vs Novak Djokovic

Summary: The Serbian tiger, Novak Djokovic appeared to be in blazing form as he stormed through Horacio Zeballos by winning three sets in a row. Horacio Zeballos made an improvement in the 1st and 3rd set, but he was no match for Djokovic’s raw talent and fiery form.

Result: Novak Djokovic defeated Horacio Zeballos by 6-1, 6-2, 6-3.

Match: Nick Kyrgios Vs Robin Chase

Summary: The Australian sensation, Nick Kyrgios faced tough competition from Robin Chase but eventually overcame his opponent to register a dominant victory. Chase’s best performance was witnessed in the last set. But even then he could not overcome the Australian star, Nick Kyrgios and lost the match of Wimbledon 2018.

Result: Nick Kyrgios defeated Robin Chase by 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

Match: Mikhail Kukushkin Vs Rafael Nadal

Summary: It was never going to be easy for Mikhail Kukushkin to face the reigning number one tennis player in the world. As, after losing the first set, Nadal continued to dominate the rest of the match and eventually won it to qualify for the next round of Wimbledon 2018.

Result: Rafael Nadal defeated by Mikhail Kukushkin by 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.

Match: Alex de Minaur Vs Pierre-Hugues Herbert

Summary: After losing the first set, Pierre’s comeback in the 2nd set was quite exciting to watch. However, he could not carry his momentum in the 3rd and 4th set as Alex de Minaur proved to superior in his tennis play and overall skill than the Australian pro.

Result: Alex de Minaur defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert by 6-2, 6-7(10), 7-5, 6-3.

Match: Julien Benneteau Vs Frances Tiafoe

Summary: Julien Benneteau had the upper hand after winning the first set. But, he couldn’t maintain his advantage as Frances Tiafoe made a dominant comeback in the following three sets and eventually won the match.

Result: Frances Tiafoe defeated Julien Benneteau by 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

Match: Matteo Berrettini Vs Gilles Simon

Summary: Matteo lost the first set to Gilles but made it tough for Gilles Simon to win the 2nd set who eventually won it in the end. The third set was the most submissive performance by Matteo as Gilles Simon won all three sets and advanced into the next round of Wimbledon 2018.

Result:  Gilles Simon defeated Matteo Berrettini by 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2.

Match: Stephane Robert Vs Matthew Ebden

Summary: Statistics wise it was a very close match betweem the two pro tennis players but in reality Matthew Ebden was the better player of the two. As after winning the first set and toughing it out in the 2nd set and eventually winning it, Ebden lost the 3rd set. But, dominated the last set to win the match from a depleted Stephane Robert.

Result:  Matthew Ebden defeated Stephane Robert by 6-3, 7-6(5) and 6-1.
