#2 CM Punk

WWE

CM Punk was a hot cake in the independent circuit. This was until he decided to join WWE in 2005. Punk remained in the shadows until 2011, but this changed when he ranted against WWE for not being given the right opportunities.

Little did Punk know, this rant became a promo for his popularity, as the audience sympathised with CM Punk and he became an overnight star. To add fuel to fire, Punk claimed himself the Voice of the Voiceless and gained the support from the audience to become a rebel against his employers.

Punk did not have a huge physique but he had the charisma to attract huge crowds towards him. CM Punk made himself as an example of the very few wrestlers who did not smoke, drink or do drugs. This made him a role model among the wrestling fan community and skyrocketed his career in a matter of months.

However, his most important contribution to this sport was that he opened doors for Indy wrestlers. Pro wrestlers like Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles and others owe CM Punk for making it into this sport. This was a revolutionary act and it also served as the biggest promotion of wrestling in the world.
