The Organising Committee of the Paris Olympics 2024 announced addition of new disciplines – climbing, breakdancing, skateboarding and surfing as new sports for Paris Olympics. The decision was shared by Tony Estanguet – President of the local organizing committee.
Certain cost cutting measures have also been taken due to corona pandemic. With these arrangements the games bill is expected to reduce by $ 513 million. However, these measures have to be ratified by the IOC International Olympic Committee.
There has also been changes of certain venues. Swimming events are relocated in a temporary pool in La Defense. Originally these were to be held in Saint-Denis.
In addition, the Volleyball venues are shifted to Stade de France from Saint-Deni.
