UoL-University of Lahore beat University of Central Punjab by 38-5 in the final of HEC Intervarsity Rugby tournament and won the title.
The 3rd position was won by Islamic University of Bahawalpur by beating Punjab University 20-0.
The HEC Intervarsity rugby sevens tournament was organized by UMT at Punjab university Rugby ground, Lahore. Universities from all over Punjab participated in this event which included: Superior University, FFCU, LGU, UVAS, GCU, LUMS, UOL, UMT, IUB and Punjab University teams are among the teams.
After league games 4 best teams played semifinals. The results were as follows:
Semi-final 1: University of Lahore beat Islamia University of Bahawalpur by 39-0.
Semi-final 2: University of Central Punjab beat Punjab University by 29-5.
The results of the League matches were:
Match 1 – Superior university beat FFCU by24-5.
Match 2 – LGU beat UVAS by 20-0.
Match 3 – LUMS got by against GCU in theh 3rd match.
Match 4 – UOL beat UMT by 22-7.
Match 5 – IUB beat Superior by 21-0.
Match 6 – UCP beat LGU by 19-5.
Match 7 – Punjab university beat LUMS by 38-0.
After league games, 4 best teams played semifinals. The results were as follows:
Semi-final 1: University of Lahore beat Islamia University of Bahawalpur by 39-0.
Semi-final 2: University of Central Punjab beat Punjab University by 29-5.
In the concluding ceremony Development head of PRU Shakeel Ahmed Malik distributed trophies and souvenirs.
