Wimbledon 2018 Highlights: Day 4; Round of 64 – 2nd Half Doubles

Match: Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Rohan Bopanna vs Alex de Minaur and John Millman

Summary: Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Rohan Bopanna took a brilliant start as they easily dominated Alex de Minaur and John Millman in the first set by a margin of four points. However, in the second set, Alex de Minaur and John Millman were playing confidently at the start but eventually, they failed to claim their victory in this set as Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Rohan Bopanna scored the points quickly one after the other.

In the third set, a tough battle was witnessed by Alex de Minaur and John Millman as the score reached 4-4. But in the end, again Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Rohan Bopanna won the set after scoring the last two points in a quick succession and finally made their place into the next round.

Match: Horacio Zeballos and Julio Peralta vs Philipp Oswald and Max Mirnyi

Summary: An absolute and exquisite performance was witnessed between the two pairs as two of the four sets came to a tie-breaker. In the first set, Horacio Zeballos and Julio Peralta gave a humiliating defeat to Philipp Oswald and Max Mirnyi as Max and Philipp were only able to make a single point. However, Philipp Oswald and Max Mirnyi won the next set on the tie-breaker as they gave a better performance from their opponents.

In the third set, Horacio Zeballos and Julio Peralta again gave Philipp Oswald and Max Mirnyi a terrible defeat as they both failed to score more than two points in the whole match. Horacio Zeballos and Julio Peralta continued their winning ways and finally booked their place into the next round as they won the fourth set on the tie-breaker.

Match: Philipp Petzschner and Tim Putz vs Ryan Harrison and Vasek Pospisil

Summary: Philipp Petzschner and Tim Putz faced a resilient fight in the first set by their opponents but eventually, they sealed their win in it as Ryan Harrison and Vasek Pospisil dropped the last two points in a quick succession. The next set was worth-watching as it eventually came to a tie-break after the scores were levelled at 6-6. But in the end, Philipp Petzschner and Tim Putz again claimed victory on the tie-break and the match moved to the third set.

In the third set, Ryan Harrison and Vasek Pospisil again struggled hard to win the set but, despite their hard work and efforts, they faced a terrific defeat by a margin of four points and finally they failed to make it to the next round.

Result: Philipp Petzschner and Tim Putz defeated Ryan Harrison and Vasek Pospisil in Wimbledon 2018 by 6-4, 7-6(8), 6-2. Philipp Petzschner and Tim Putz will now play against Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the round of 32 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Match: Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal vs Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta

Summary: Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal took a perfect start as they dominated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta after a resilient fight in the first set by a margin of two points. However, a sensational fight was again witnessed in the next set as it eventually came to a tie-breaker. Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal faced defeat in the second set on the tie-break but managed to win the next easily by 6-2 in the end.

In the last set, Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal replied to Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Pablo Carreno Busta by giving them a humiliating defeat of 6-1 and booked their place into the next round.

Match: Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies vs Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani

Summary: In the first set, Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies dominated Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani easily by a margin of three points in the end. However, the next set was a worth-watching set as both the pairs were scoring points quickly one after the other. At last, the set came to a tie-breaker after a tough fight. But, Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies again sealed their win on the tie-break as Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani lost some points on their serve.

In the third set, Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani again gave a tough fight to their opponents and finally succeeded in it as they scored the last two points in a quick succession. However, in the fourth set, Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies again gave a terrible defeat to Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani as they won by a margin of three points.

Result: Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies defeated Romain Arneodo and James Cerretani in Wimbledon 2018 by 6-3, 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-3. Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies will now face Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers in the round of 32 at Wimbledon 2018.
