Women’s World Team Squash Championship: France & Hong Kong Gatecrash

DALIAN, CHINA: In the quarter-finals of the CGG WSF Women’s World Team Squash Championship, France and Hong Kong China caused major upsets by ousting fourth seeds Malaysia and third seeds USA, respectively, to secure semi-final berths in the 2018 competition.

For place in the finals, Hong Kong will play the defending champions Egypt who faced a major shock in the match tie against 7th seeds New Zealand, when the world No.1, Nour El Sherbini, lost to Joelle King.

The situation was controlled by the Egyptians when Raneem El Welily, the world No.2, defeated Amanda Landers-Murphy to level the match score 1-1. With Nour El Tayeb confirming the semis place for Egypt by defeating Abbie Palmer.

England were the fourth and final team to enter the semi-finals berth, by securing victory over 8th seeds Canada.
