The 2022 Quaid-e-Azam Classical Chess Tournament is all set to be held to celebrate the Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader) Day. Held annually in memory of the Founder of the Pakistan Nation – Mohammad Ali Jinnah on his birthday on 25th December.

The tournament being organised by CFP-Chess Federation of Pakistan and ICCI-Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will be held on 24th and 25th December at ICCI, Main Building, Islamabad. 

According to CFP announcement, the awards include – Cash prizes of Rs 75,000, trophies, medals and certificates which will be awarded to players divided into Open (U-1800 FIDE), Women and U-14 categories.

Further, 80 selected players from across the country are participating anf the tournament will be played based on the Swiss league system which consists of 8 rounds. Match duration in the aforesaid FIDE rated tournament will be 30 minutes + 30 seconds increament from first move.
