Bundesliga – MatchDay-28 of 34
9 matches were played in German top league from 5 to 7 April. Unlike the previous Match-Day, where five out of nine matches ended in draws, it proved to be result oriented as only one match was drawn and eight produced results. It was exactly like Match-Days 25 & 26. Leverkusen continues its winning streak, sitting comfortably 16 points above the nearest rival Bayern Munich. Leverkusen also remains the only team not only in Bundesliga but in entire Europe’s Top Leagues, not to have lost any match so far in the domestic league, though they have played drawn games. Cause for concern for Bayern Munich as they have lost two and drawn one game in their last five matches. Although they did well in a 2 – 2 draw with Arsenal at London on Wednesday in the first leg of quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Stuttgart sits equal with them on points table. England captain Harry Kane of Bayern remains the leading scorer in the league and has scored 32 goals so far including 4 hat-tricks. Leverkusen have also reached the last-8 stage of UEFA Europa League and will face West Ham United of England in the 1st leg on 12 April.

Only French team in the UEFA Champions League, PSG lost to Barcelona the home tie 2 – 3 in 1st leg of quarterfinals against Barcelona of Spain. Marseille, the only team from Ligue 1 in the last-8 of UEFA Europa League lost their 1 st leg of quarterfinal against Benfica of Portugal 1 – 2.

Erling Haaland of Manchester City is the top scorer with 19 goals in the league.
Manchester City and Arsenal both played drawn games against their rivals in 1st leg of quarterfinals of UEFA Champions League. Both Liverpool and West Ham United, in last-8 of UEFA Europa League lost their matches in

This is always a hectic time in Top-tier League football as a lot of adjustments in schedules have to be made due to postponed matches. It also results into travels with short intervals for the players and the management. This extra fatigue and stress may become factor in becoming
champions in some leagues where the contest is very close between two to three teams. Moreover, surprises have happened, though rarely, where a dark horse has galloped late and won the race.
