Rafael Nadal won the semi-final match against Novak Djokovic to reach the final of Italian Open 2018.  It was a breathtaking match as both players struggled to defeat each other but ultimately the Spaniard got victory over Djokovic.

Nadal won the match after a tough competition, and the final scores were 4-6, 6-1 and  6-2 as he beat his biggest rival Djokovic and proved once again that he’s the best player on clay courts.

Rafael Nadal was the most favourite to win the semi-final and he didn’t disappoint his fans as he regained his form once again after beating  Djokovic on clay.

Now, Rafael Nadal will face the winner of the semi-final that is scheduled to happen between Alexander Zverev and Marin Cilic.

Nadal is currently ranked 2nd in tennis after Roger Federer. Nadal has a history of most wins (11) at a single tournament.

He has also won 50 successive sets on clay courts. But he lost to Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals of Madrid Open. So Nadal wanted to prove that he’s the god of clay court.

On the other hand, Djokovic is currently ranked 18 in this sport by ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals). Novak is known for his backhand skills which he shows against distinct playing styles and on both offensive and defensive playing.

How it happened?

The first set started and Nadal was leading pretty well on djokovic from 5-2. But the Serbian managed to get equal points at 5-5 as the game became much more interesting.

The first set came to a tie-break but it didn’t bother Nadal as showed that he was best on clay as he dominating the tie-breaker by 7-4 thus winning the first set of the match.

The 2nd set started and it was a must win for Djokovic if he wanted to stay alive in this match. However, despite the Serbian’s efforts, Nadal came on top as he beat Novak Djokovic by 6-3 to win the match and make it to the finals of Italian Open 2018.
