The 13th edition of U19 Cricket World Cup 2020 gets underway from 17th January in South Africa.
The event was first held in 1988, under the name Youth World Cup in Australia. The next edition was held 10 years later in South Africa during 1998. Since it has been held on biennial basis.
The last edition of 2018 was played in New Zealand. Being the twelfth edition of the tournament, it was the third time the tournament was held in New Zealand. This World Cup was won comprehensively by Indian U19’s.
Australia had lost to India in the finals and therefore had finished as runner ups. Pakistan finished third.
The latest 13th edition teams are divided into groups of four out of which top two from each group will progress to the knockout stage, and thereon the semi-finals and finals.
